ECHOES OF HOME
Echoes of Home is a laboratory of creative wellbeing, where the performing arts serve as a vital bridge to social inclusion.
By weaving together the universal languages of music, dance, and visual arts, we create a sanctuary for men navigating the "chronic uncertainty" of the asylum system. This project is not merely about performance; it is a trauma-aware intervention designed to transform isolation into connection, using movement and melody to reclaim a sense of agency, dignity, and shared humanity for those living on the margins of society.
Rhythm as Resilience: We use music and dance as non-verbal, inclusive tools to bridge cultural divides and language barriers. From the complex patterns of an Iranian folk dance to the shared pulse of a drum, these sessions offer a rare outlet for joy.
A Canvas for the Untold: Supported by art therapists, participants use visual arts and drawing to complement their physical movement, allowing memories and stories to surface and be "freed up" in a safe environment.
The Choreography of Co-Creation: This is a space of "shared ownership". Participants lead the way, teaching their own traditional steps and suggesting the rhythms that echo their heritage.
Capturing the Vibration: Beyond the movement, participants take the lead in documenting their experience through audio and video recording, learning to frame their own narratives and preserve the "echoes" of their creativity.
